Channeling Your Inner Girly Girl

For some time now, I've been fascinated with mineral make-up.  Ever since I saw that Bare Minerals infomercial on TV a few years ago, I've always wanted to try it.  Make-up so pure you can sleep in it?  Sign me up!  I'm notorious for falling asleep with make-up on, which is so bad.  However, if you've ever seen the infomercial, ads in magazines, or been to stores that carry it, you know it costs a lot.  I don't know how I feel about shelling out $30+ for foundation.  So, earlier this year, I ended up buying this:

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers

I've been using it for a while now, and I do like it.  It goes on sheer and has a nice glowy effect.  The only thing is I feel like it doesn't last all day.  My skin also tends to get oily, so by the time I'm ready for a touch-up, I have to deal with oil as well.  I'm trying to find something more high-end, yet still affordable and have stumbled upon a few possibilities:

Everyday Minerals

Just tonight I checked out their website for the second time.  The first time I was soooo very tempted to order something, but I stopped myself because I still had a lot of the Neutrogena Mineral Sheers left.  Anyways, they're pretty cheap and have a big selection of foundation colors.  This can be a good and bad thing, since it's hard to decide what color to get with so many to choose from.  I ended up ordering a Free Sample kit which comes with 3 Foundations, 1 Blush/Face Color, and 1 Concealer.  You get to choose the colors too.  All you have to pay for is shipping, so that's not bad at all.  I can't wait til it comes in so I can try it out!

LotusMinerals

I came across this brand when I was searching reviews for Everyday Minerals.  It is more expensive than Everyday Minerals, but still less than Bare Minerals.  They also offer a Free Sample kit, but it only comes with 3 Foundations and the cheapest shipping is $8.  I decided to wait & see how EM goes before I order something else.

I was planning to go to Sephora or Ulta tomorrow, before I leave for Virginia Beach.  I hate how neither Virginia Beach nor Norfolk has those stores!  Sephora is like my mothership haha.  I wanted to check out what they had, besides it's more fun being able to hold and try on the make-up in person.  But we'll have to see if that fits into my schedule, I'm trying to get back home as early as possible.  If anyone has tried these make-up brands or has any they'd like to suggest, please let me know!  I'm the biggest girly girl ever!  Btw, my number one weakness is lipgloss, so I'll gladly take suggestions on that too.    My current fave is:

Kiehl's Moisturizing Lipgloss in Black Raspberry
(It's most def worth the $12. You should get it at your favorite major department store.)

p.s. brand names are linked if you would
like to check out their websites.
